How do you enable the DMA in windows 2000. I have a via chipset motherboard. I installed the lastest release 4.29a. But can't find how to enable it like in windows 9x.
Rt. Click My Computer > Go to Properties > Go to Hardware Tab > Go to Device Manager > Under device manager click on IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller and click on either IDE 1 or 2. Then go to advanced settings and click on DMA if Available. You won't be able to tell exactly what DMA mode you are in but after reboot it should say ultra DMA mode in the current mode.
