DMA in Win2k

Ok here's my problem:

I installed Win2000 recently on my machine but ran into a little problem with the DMA on my afreey dvd rom. Before on 98, DMA wouldn't enable unless i disabled the SB16 emulation driver that came with my creative sound card. Now when I run Win 2k...I can't figure out
1. Where the option is to enable DMA on this drive

or

2. Where the option is to disable the SB16 emulation driver and therefore enable DMA...

any help?

Thanks,

Luke

have you tried going into device manager and right clicking on your cd-rom drive and going to properties? dma MIGHT be there (i forget)

EDIT: i was close, hehe, but the post below is correct, forget what i said 🙂

Try going into device manager and looking under IDE/ATA/ATAPI or somethink like that. There should be primary channel and secondary channel. Choose the one your DVD drive is one and make sure the setting is set to DMA if available instead of PIO only.
