DMA in NT4?

Can DMA be enabled in NT4 server (I'm using SP3)? I know it isn't on right now, since whenever I access my disks from another computer, every single program just stops working ...

go to SERVICE PACK 5 or 6a. ide harddrives dont take up as much cpu cycles as 3 does for some reason. there is a program that will let you use DMA. but i suggest you be running SP5 or higher. the program is called DMACHECK. it may leave your system unstable and you may not be able to boot NT if one of your drives or CDROMs does not support DMA. use at your own risk.
