DMA enabling in WinME / WinDVD message

Got a message everytime I start WinDVD that my DVD drive does not have the DMA set on.
Now I do not have an option box in drive settings to switch the DMA on. I assume it's done automaticaly through the ATA100 controller (on-board).

Am I missing something?

How do I check what the real setting is?

The MB I'm using is Intel D815EEAL.

Thanks

I get the same message and my DMA is enabled.

But just so you know, an ATA100 controller is perfectly capable of operating in PIO mode 4, so just becuase it's a UDMA mode 5 (ATA100) controller doesn't mean that DMA is enabled.

To check go to System (right click on my computer and choose properties or use the System icon in control panel) and choose device manager.

Under CDRom drives, pick the DVD Rom and see if the DMA box is checked...

I believe that works for intel chipsets....my Via chipset has a special utilites for enabling/disabling DMA for drives....

I know how to check it and enabling, but as I wrote, there is no such box to check (the DMA check-box), strange heh?
Most probably it's taken care of by the ATA100 controller.
Intel MB's.

I'm using an ABIT SE6 and have been having the same problem locating an area to enable DMA. Anyone have any luck?
