DMA-1 Fatal errors and no sound

After replacing my video card that was not displaying 3D graphics with the same card (an RMA'd BFG 7800 OC AGP), my sound card is not recognized by my system and I'm getting random DMA-1 fatal errors at boot up. If I power down I can usually boot up without getting the error. After I boot up, I have no sound and my sound card does not even appear in the device manager.

A little history:

A few weeks after replacing my BFG 6800 Ultra OC AGP with a BFG 7800 OC AGP late last year, I noticed some artifacts in 3D game graphics. At the time, I thought the problem was just bad drivers or game bugs. However, the problem got worse and progressed to having extreme artifacts in all 3D games. I opened the case and switched to a different molex connector and the problem went away for a few weeks. The problem then returned and I found if I unplugged the molex and plugged it back in the problem would go away for a few hours or days and then come back. Also, my system would stop recognizing my sound card but that happened randomly as well. Now, with the new BFG 7800, my 3D graphics are OK but I have no sound at all as well as the random DMA-1 fatal errors which never happened before. Any ideas?
