DLT tape backups for PC's, anybody else use these ?

I got a good deal on a Compaq DLT 15/30 gig drive, and it will arrive any day. I am wondering if anybody here has used these in PC's instead of servers. What software supports these ? I have the commercial version of Seagate backup exec that supports my DDS2 drive, when the regular ones don't, but I don't know about DLT drives. If it won't work with my software, I will have to get something else. I just couldn't wait all day for the DDS2 drive to backup, as I only get 2.3 gig per hour, and the DLT does 10.8/hour. I always do full backups weekly, and yes I know incrementals would take a lot less time, I just want the whole thing, in multiple versions. Has saved my butt a few times.

Any input would be appreaciated.

should work, i use the backup exec w2k servers for my dlt.. DLT are fast.. but did u get urs new or used ? Head does wear out

I got it for $51 on ebay. It has a 7 day doa warranty, came out of a Compaq Proliant 1600. I stole it (or its junk)

i second forcesho--backup exec works just fine with DLT drives. in my experience(on NT & 2000), backup exec is a good piece of backup software

yeah.. u actually can download the latest off their web if u still have ur product code I think..

im upgrading my dlt to rack mount auto loader.. a 40/80 instead.. now im on 20/40
