DLP TV good for console gaming?

I've been looking at purchasing a 50" Samsung DLP TV and have read conflicting reviews that playing xbox, ps2, xbox360 etc... have some issues with lag on screen? Is this a DLP TV issue itself? Anyone with a DLP TV and does console gaming have any problems like this?

Ive certainly heard there is some lag, although its probably dependent on the TV. At least you dont have to worry about burn in. Also be sure to watch a DLP set for some time before comitting to buying one. They often suffer from the rainbow effect when you move your eye across the screen or black changes to white very quickly - I find it so distracting that I could never buy one.

The 2006 model Samsungs (HLS-xxx) have a game mode that bypasses the video processing that caused the lag.

A 720p set is perfect for xbox360 and current DVDs, while a 1080p set might be worth the extra $500+ if you have HD cable and/or plan to get a blu-ray/HD-DVD player.
