DLP flashing black

Hey everyone I've been using a 60 inch Mitsu DLP for the past year or so with no problems. Just a few days ago the screen started blinking black every few seconds or minutes, randomly, not any kind of pattern. Screen goes black for half a second, if that, no sound interruption or anything. This happens with all cable channels but not while playing xbox. I just turned on a SD channel and have no blinking... so its only HD channels.

Could this be a comcast/cable box issue? I haven't found anything online about either.

anything strange if you feed it bluray? Maybe the HDMI cable?

Yeah, I would suspect the cable box before the TV especially given the part about SD channels being OK.

Strange, resetting my cable box fixed the issue. I wonder what would cause that in the first place.
