Running Spybot now and that is also eating up approx 47% of my CPU. Both cores are running at 100%.

Welcome to Anandtech! May I introduce you to Google?

After reading the 2nd or third link, it looks like it is possible there is a virus of some sort on you computer. High CPU utilization does not hurt the computer, but it is annoying, so using spybot and maybe a free antivirus (AVG) should be enough to find and remove your problem.

I did use Google. Thats why I am posting here. I found nothing of use on Google.

Spybot found nothing but Cookies to delete. Will run AVG now.

New build? Old Build? Version of windows?

You can end process on dllhost.exe and see what happens. I don't have that running on my machine. Spybot can be intensive while it's running, too.

then you suck at google. Third link down from my link. "DLLHOST.EXE - Good or Bad?" basically tells you that it is a microsoft product that is linked from outside applications. So a high utilization could be a sign that there is a virus on you computer, but it could also be a sign that an antivirus is running in the background. What the website recommends, and I agree with, is to run a antivirus scan on your computer.

So please, do go off on "Google Failed me!' when any other person on this board is ultimately going to do exactly what I just did and tell you exactly what I just told you.

You don't need to be so harsh on new members Cogman.

I understand what you're saying, but give the guy a break , it was his first post!

BTW: Welcome to Anandtech 145ty! :)

Links 5 & 7 look good too (read 5, link 7 suggests the same thing by its title)
Just because its 145ty's first day on the forum, doesn't mean its his first day using the internet/google.
All signs seem to point towards the Win32.Worm.Welchia.A.

At least he gets a welcome from you...too bad others forget that they probably first came to these forums asking for help themselves.

I've got over 3000 posts over at OCF and I would certainly not ridicule or insult a newbie poster, no matter how simple or easy his question appeared to me. I've never understood the need for others to do so.

Some people seem to think that posting help is such a bother. Either help, or not post...it really is not a difficult thing.

No wonder the OP hasn't posted again.

Press Ctl/Alt/Delete to open your Task Manager and end the process of this program which is using your cpu. Then try to track it down and delete it.

Some programs you d/l off the interent have bugs imbedded in them, such as the 50% and 100% Cpu Usage Bug (which I d/l from Guru's Ray Adams Ati Tray Tools, which will install the 50% bug and is hard to find. It is inserted everywhere in your registry). The 100% bug is often included in some Microsoft d/l, especially if you use Internet Explorer.

Vista also seems to have a memory recovery program which runs for the first 10 minutes after bootup, incrementally reducing the ram allocations to the dozens of useless programs that Windows loads, but you don't need. This program usually only uses about 5% cpu, but is annoying if you have a noisy hd like a WD.
