As I was installing the MSN Explorer program I had a nasty incident... half way through installeation it showed a dialog box telling me that Internet Exploroer has proformed an illegal operation.:Q

It asked me if I would like to send the information to Microsoft.... of couse I said yes and it tried to start the progam again. WHAM it happened again.... I though... ohh well I will just re-boot and try again. I tried to start up Internet Explorer after re-booting and it did it again. I though this was all a bit strange so I went to open another program and it had fatal errors.:Q

When I looked at the fault log it said there was about 50-100 dll file with errors or corrupted. I thought ohhh well I will just remove the program and try it all again.... but then I relised that no system programs (like add/remove programs, defrag, scan disc etc...) would work. I though I could manually remove this program and install from a CD.... not to be... I couldn't access my CD ROM.

So I backed up all my files onto my other computer last night over my network (which took a few hours) And tried to install Windows over the top of itself. I have done this before and it has worked a treat. Not this bloody time. I got through the installation proccess and then it went into a continuace loop of resterting after it got into my loggin screen. I am of course talking about WIN98SE. I have got a copy of WIN2000 Pro coming to me today, but before I format and install WIN2K I would like to nkow if this sort of crap has happended to anyone else before. All I did was what MICROSOFT asked me to do when installing this program and they sem to have cost me valuable time!

It is also worth mentioning that about 3 weeks ago one of my house mates downloaded the Sirc32. exe Virus from an Email.... I got rid of that crap thought with ease.😉

And to top all this off I got outside to come to work yesterday and I had a flat tyre on my car and my Landlord has decided to move back into his house and kick me out 3 days before Christmas. BUMMER 🙁
