I have DSL. I have a recently purchased DI-524 wireless modem. After about 2 hrs I will lose the connection and need to restart the modem. Tech support didnt help. Got a new modem and it did the same thing. It will also lose the connection when the comupter is wired to the modem also.

Thanks for any help.

How far from the router is your machine, and is there anything in between that would act as a block or interference for the radio signal? Examples would be walls with steel framing in them, instead of wood beams or any other areas containing a lot of metal.

The specified range for your router:

? Indoors: Up to 328 ft (100 meters)
? Outdoors: Up to 1312 ft (400 meters)

For a start, if possible, try temporarily moving the machine closer to the router to see if that improves the reliablity of the connection. You may also be able to improve performance by adjusting the antennae on one or both ends.

Call back to tech support. You may get a tech who's more knowledgeable about your particular problem. If that doesn't help, ask for an upper tier tech.

Hope that helps. 🙂

Thanks for the info. The router will lose the connection even if connected or next to the router. The techs have been changing settings but they seem baffled.

Thanks
John
