Dlink router not seeing WAN

I have just purchased a Dlink 524 wireless router and it won't see my WAN connection, but when i plug everything back in to my Dlink 614 router everything works fine. I have Comcast cable and the router is set to dynamic IP address. All settings between the two routers match, but this one will not connect. I have returned it and got a replacement once and have experienced the same problem on both. So is there anyone that has experience with this router, or somoene with any idea on how to get things working? By the way, the reason I am in need of the second router is because I am going away to school tomorrow and need the 524 for ther while leaving my family the 614.
