I currently have a time capsule 500GB. The thing is not very stable at all. Minor power bumps, really slow with bittorrent etc.
I am debating the above choices but am wondering about the downgrade to 802.11g speed wise.
Points to consider:
I have an apple tv with wireless N.
I have a Macbook with wireless N using time machine.
My XP box is connected via gigE to the router, and want it to stay that way.
I will eventually replace PC with an IMAC (>2yrs)
I use Vonage for my phone. Plan to eventually switch to a skype phone (less $$ per/mo)
Thoughts:
I would really like to continue using time machine for backups. And since I plan on picking up an Imac it makes this more important. How easy is it to share a hard drive on a PC and have the macbook use time machine?
I use Vonage so QOS is important to me.
I desire stability(need the phone up) and speed most of all.
So with that said which would you go with? Dlink or linksys w/tomato? Other recommendations?....I really like the idea of the tomato firmware btw.
