Dlink camera losing Wifi

Have a dlink camera that intermittently drops ability to connect to it via wifi. I have the camera set static in the router via mac address. Have not manage to find the reason it occasionally can not be connected to, but the mac address will still show in the router as a connected item, just without an IP assigned to it. Only way to reestablish contact is by power cycling the camera. Any idea on how to troubleshoot/fix this?

I have had the same problem with a Wi-Fi SD card. Basically, it is a power problem. Wi-Fi takes more juice than the camera can supply - so contact breaks. Power cycling fixes that. Make sure your camera battery is fully charged.

What happens when you move the camera to the computer side of the wall?

Never tried that, but wouldn't be able to try after it lost connection as the power cord isn't that long.

dunno what happens on the router side, but say for instance your are using a high interference channel and lost a connection, would the router still show as connected? (Kinda where I was going when I asked if you were using N band). What happens if you statically connect using IP rather than MAC?
