Dlink air plus card issues *BSOD*

Picked up a card from Fry's the other day. Put it in a box, with a freshly installed copy of XP. Worked fine for a few hours, then I got a BSOD. Checked online it was from a3ab.sys which is a D-Link driver, seems a bunch of people have this same issue. I've read installing the Athenos driver (they make the chip Dlink uses on the card) fixes it. I've also read the Athenos driver doesn't help. I don't really want to keep this card, but which card would be a good replacement? I'd go USB. I'm not a big fan of Linksys, and thought I haven't used their products, Belkin seems to get pretty poor comments from people who have.

This box isn't going to be used for anything super, just a basic PC with a wireless connection. 802.11b would even be fine, I just want to find a reliable card/usb adapter.

thanks
