anyone have expirience with d link 524 wireless router disconnecting evrey 15 min or so or is it just my connection. after 4 weeks of having it my wireless or wired n ever got disconected or my router, now it always does.

I've read a few instances of this problem, seems to be happening to some people who have updated to the 1.05 frimware. Seems to be rectified by doing one of two things:

1. Go back to the 1.03 firmware (which you can get ont the DLink site)
2. Do a total reset (push the reset button in on the back with a paper clip) then re-installing the 1.05 firmware. Seems going right from the 1.03 to the 1.05 isn't working correctly, you need to start from scratch before updating.

I have this router and have never had a problem with it, so it seems to be a hit or miss thing. Hopefully one of these two options will work for you.

i have 3.01 firmware, do disconnects..........so far

Well, hopefully, the newer version of the dlink (which uses the firmware you use) will be better than previous versions.

I, for one, gave up on the thing and got a netgear 614, after 30' of installation (apart from a couple of silly issues like just *accessing* the router and enabling the wireless - kind of weird how I had to do that) the router has been up for days now without any issues/disconnects. My peace of mind and my time are definitely not worth futzing with that Dlink anymore.....

luck to ya'.....
