A slew of games, downloadable content for various games, and a demo were added to Xbox Live this morning.

On the games front, Microsoft added two previously released retail games to their Games on Demand service where you can purchase games on Xbox Live and download them straight to your hard drive. The two games released are the Disney movie tie-in game Bolt for $19.99 and the classic board game Trivial Pursuit also for $19.99.

A fan of Guitar Hero and Van Halen? Try out the demo for Guitar Hero: Van Halen before it is released next week. This demo is currently only available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Over in the downloadable content side of the releases, ten new cars are now available for Forza Motorsport 3 as part of the Hot Holidays Car Pack. This pack includes the 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia, 2010 Nissan GT-R SpecV, 2010 Ferrari 599XX, 2009 Audi #2 Audi Sport Team Joest R15 TDI, 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV, 2009 Aston Martin #007 Aston Martin Racing Lola, 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo, 2009 Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss, 2010 Jaguar XFR, and 2010 Audi S4 all for 400 MS Points ($5). If you'd like to try out just one of the cars, a Hot Holidays Car Pack sample is also available with just the 2010 Audi S4.

Not to be left behind, Need for Speed: Shift released a free DLC pack that enables team racing in the game along with five new cars. With NFS Shift Team Racing, you and five teammates will be able to compete with other teams from around the world.

The recently released The Saboteur gets a saucy piece of DLC that turns nudity in the game on and off and also opens five new brothels where you'll have the opportunity to win an in-game car and contraband in a knife throwing mini-game. The Midnight Show is 240 MS Points ($3) but was included in some versions of the retail release. So check your game case before you purchase.

Finally, Rock Band rounds out today's releases with a pack of songs from the heavy metal band Slipknot featuring the songs Sulfur, Psychosocial, and Duality. The individual songs are 160 MS Points each ($2) or 440 MS Points ($5.50) for the full pack. But those aren't the only Rock Band releases this week as we also get two Simon & Garfunkle songs ("The Sounds of Silence" and "I Am a Rock") for 160 MS Points each ($2) along with a free song for Xbox Live Gold subscribers from Lights Resolve called "Dreaming of Love".

FYI, the Guitar Hero: Van Halen demo contains 4 songs:

Van Halen - Panama
Van Halen - Eruption
Killswitch Engage - End of Heartache
Weezer - Dope Nose

At least I can try out Panama for free. I was so sad to see a band I really like thrown onto Nevervision shovelware.

I am pretty much behind the times here, but I just bought a PS3 and RB2 for "the family" and am excited about all the DLC. Looks like I have some money to spend...

I am curious, do you guys buy 1 or 2 tracks at a time based on your likes/interest or do you buy albums and song packs? It's cheaper this way, right?

It depends on how much I like the band (or how much I think friends that play may like the band). You usually do get a discount on packs, so I lean towards buying the packs. For the full album DLC, you are generally getting 1 or 2 tracks free if you buy the whole thing. But keep in mind that everything you get will pop up in random setlists, so if there's something you really dislike in a pack you may just want to get a few tracks. The other nice thing about packs is you might discover new stuff that you grow to like. I've purchased several Rock Band inspired CDs at this point.

EDIT: By the way, don't forget to download your 20 free songs (there's some good stuff in there), plus if you can grab or rent a cheap copy of Rock Band 1, you can import all those songs for $5.

Thanks, I heard about importing Rock Band 1 and got in on Amazon for $7...now how do I get the free 20 songs? Included with Rock Band 2 purchase?

There should be a code on the back of your manual that you need to go enter into this web site.

the forza 3 cars are definately worth it for a sim fan. if you're just casually into racing games, probably notsomuch, though.

i'm loving the ferraris and the benz.
