my next store neighbor got his xmas bonus and ask me what i knew about D,L ,Ps .
not a thing was my reply. can any one help him . he wants to play pc,games on it and xbox.
can it be done or tell him to ge a big LCD TV.

DLP projectors are, from an overall-system sort of view, very much like an LCD projector (the internal workings are different, but the output effect is similar). In terms of displaying things, it wouldn't really be any different than any other sort of digital projector.

So he can play games then . is it kinda like having big screen tv with out lossen space.
what about H,D,D TV is it compatible with it.

Why are you sticking commas, spaces, and extra letters randomly into acronyms (DLP, HDTV)? And questions usually end with a question mark in English, not a period.

Depends on the projector, obviously, but I would think most would have component/DVI input and could display a 720p or 1080i signal. Even one built for "computer" use these days is likely to have DVI.

One thing to note is that most projectors are 4:3 ratio, whereas most HDTV programming is 16:9. There are exceptions, of course (in both programming and projectors), but it's something to be aware of. Also, many digital projectors are only 1024x768 native. 720p video is 1280x720, and 1080i is 1920x1080, so on such a projector you'd be scaling HD content to a non-native resolution (although this happens on basically any set, except for newer 16:9 plasma/LCD sets, which can display 720p natively).

There's tons of material over at www.avsforum.com if you want to get more in-depth into this stuff. The debate between CRT monitors, plasma/LCD, and projectors is far from settled, and can get very technical.
