Has anyone out there made their own version of the (discontinued Ikea) Jerker desk from parts from the HW store? Are there any plans available that I could follow.
 
I did think about it using slotted bars on a normal desk but decided to just knock up a simple double shelf hutch for the desk. I just need more usable space within easy reach for now. Saved the pics for a future project.
 
How about just buying a Fredrik desk? My wife uses one (black 4-footer) and it is a very nice desk if you want something simply elegant without a bunch of tack-on stuff.

Oh yeah, and this image at Ikeafans is wrong. It says the Fredrik desk has non-adjustable shelves and work surface. In fact, it is adjustable every 3 or 4 inches.
