DIY Home Security

I'm trying to do some research on a DIY home security system, and I like the sounds of this Motorola Homesight system: http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Motorola-Homesight/

Do any of you have experience with this system? Is it reliable?

Or would you recommend something else?

Basically I want a few motion sensing day/night cameras, regular motion sensors, and hopefully something to tie into the window/door sensors I have already installed so I don't have ot have two separate systems (this part I dont think Homesight can handle)

i don't have any experience installing an alarm system, but a couple of years ago I looked into it. The only recommendation I have is to consider a system that is compatible with the remote monitoring services. Not only will this be beneficial if you're burglarized, most insurance companies will discount your homeowner insurance premium up to 15%.
