I never got permits for any of the work I did or had done.

It's my house, if I want to screw it up I shouldn't need a permit.

The fact that I need a piece of paper from the government to say that I can do work on MY house makes me very angry. ****** you its my house!

Bingo.

In my town, you are supposed to be licensed to install a water heater or do any electrical work in your house.

Ive installed a deck on the back of the house, replaced my water heater, wired up a hot tub with breaker box, etc, wired my garage for electricity, and am going to install an attic fan shortly, all without getting permits.

Why should I pay the city for me to do work in my house? Everything I do will be safe and up to snuff.

Permits are money makes and nothing else.
