DIY hard drive enclosure?

gorcorps

aka Brandon
I remember seeing something on building your own external usb hard drive enclosure. Does anybody have a link cuz google isn't coming up with anything. I think it would be a really fun DIY project, but don't really know how to go about it.

Yes, something from scratch. There was a wiring guide on the net that I thought somebody posted from here. Searching came up w/ nothing 🙁. It was a really good guide on how to wire an ide port to a usb cable to make it work just like a purchased case.

It seems highly unlikely that you can just wire a parellel connection to a serial connection without any kind of controller and it will work. Think about it.

I'd seriously just cough up the $25 and buy one.

It's not that I'm cheap, it's that I enjoy this type of stuff. It's a hobby. Anyways, maybe it was something else I saw... or maybe it was a very boring dream.
