I've been working on this thing on and off for a bit and thought I'd share some pics.

thats actually really cool,
integrate the ipad onto the box and you have a modern boombox lol

That is very cool indeed. How is the ipad secured? PS should have gotten the handle that has been diamond rolled 😛

funny that you post this.

Last week i was out of town for work at a different site and one of the workers there built a boombox (ghetto blaster) much like this with 2 car audio 6x9s with a DC/AC converter with a car head unit stuck in the front of it, had an antenna or could be used with an aux jack

pretty sweet

Hah, that's awesome...how did you decide on what crossover to use?

Zaph tested the tweeter and said 4k @ 6dB/octave was good, I took his word for it 😉

It isn't yet, picking up a t-slot router bit tomorrow and making a jig. It will slide in from the top and end up recessed about 1/8" in. I will line the inside with felt as to not scratch it.
I will also put either a car charger/line out cable in it as the amp runs on 12v too or the Bluetooth board from PE and just connect it that way, then you could use your phone with it too.

Cool, I wanted something a little lighter myself.

Nice, I assumed someone notable had done some testing on those units...good stuff. How much does it weigh?
