diy fan filters

I want to put some filters on my systems fans. I haven't seen a lot of debris in there yet, but I have a cat and it (the computer) may be on the floor, so I think I'm really going to want filters. What could I buy from home depot or craft stores to do this myself? Any ideas? Thanks...
