This project doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I mean I have not read the whole thing but already at the part where they are putting mosfets in series on every output to shut them off, what is the point of that? It doesn't shut it off in the PSU, isn't saving power or anything, and it's not like having it live is particularly dangerous at these low voltages.

If instead you're working with a powered device that's subject to go into a shorted condition, that device itself, not the PSU is where the fuse or breaker should be located (if that's a legitimate intention).

I'm sure the designer has some special purpose in mind, but considering the great time and expense, including the value of the (arguably should start with a....) decent quality ATX PSU, people can simply buy a ready made benchtop power supply, and have it adjustable output voltage too.

It's quite insane, that there's over $2000 worth of man hours put into it, and probably well over $100 in parts, to arrive at something arguably worth $100 total.. and only that much because of multiple simultaneous outputs. Even the time to document it on the webpages was worth more than the end result.

Sigh. There was a time when I would have thought this was a neat project, but consumer widgets coming from China are dirt cheap for what they are these days, no need to reinvent the wheel at such a high cost.
