DIY cooling project questions

Question 1 (Video Cards)

My video cards are very hot. They can run up to 100c which is way way to hot. So I figured I would come up with a little project that would help cool things down a bit.

With tri sli everything is packed in so tight that heat cannot escape from between the cards. And the Northbridge is right next to the top graphics cards.

I have 3 gtx280 and 1 evga 760mb

My idea.
Take some aluminum and place it inbetween the graphics cards and the north bridge.
Saluter a pipeline to the pieces full of Liquid Nitrogen (I have a free source I can get as much as I want for free). Then hook up a pump and a radiator to it.

So the aluminum gets hot from the Graphics cards and then cools by the liquid Nitrogen Thats saluter to it(the aluminum is going to be wrapped around the Liquid Nitrogen Pipeline). I use the pump to cicrulate the liquid Nitrogen so that way it stays perminently cool (and From what I know you always have to circulate cooling lol). Then I send it through a radiator and a fan connected to the radiator.

I figure max it would cost about 100 bucks. All I need to by is the pump the radiator and the pipeline.

( The aluminum will not be covering up the Graphics card fans. They will be right next to them.


I have tried everything you can think of to get the cards a lower temp. Nothing worked.
1. I took the cards completely apart to clean the inside and to reapply (the chip cooling stuff the name escapes me right now.
2. I moved the cards to different spots
3. I had the same problem in my old motherboard
4. I have proper airflow.
a. I have the side off
b. I have a big fan pointed directly at the graphics cards. (its an ac fan) turned to max.
c. I have mini fans inside to help circulate the air.
5. I have underclocked the cards to get them into an exceptable range for right now.

So what do you think Would this work to help lower my tempature on my graphics cards.

Question 2 (Corsair H50)

My question here is can I empty the fluid thats inside the H50 and replace it with Liquid Nitrogen. I know how much colder LN can be then the fluid inside the H50. I just dont know if the compontents are made for Liquid Nitrogen.

Thanks for the help and sorry if these are stupid questions. I really know nothing about Liquid Nitrogen.

PS is there a smaller way to type Liquid Nitrogen like LN or something. Its a pain to type it 50 times lol.

FYI Liquid Nitrogen:
Boiling point 77.36 K, -195.79 °C, -320.3342 °F

You need to do more research.

A LOT MORE.... And i mean on the size of mt. Everst.

1. You never have LN touch anything plastic let alone a h5o unit.
2. You NEVER use a rad in a sub ambient system... -195.79C is most definitely sub ambient.. unless your on Pluto.
3. YOU NEVER USE LN2 IN A CLOSED LOOP UNLESS ITS HIGH PRESSURE RATED. Gas expands.. when it expands, it takes up space.. if you dont have the enough seal to hold back the pressure it explodes..

We call LN2 cooling units, Pots... because its an open tank where you pour LN2 inside every 5-10 min to get insane overclocking. These pots are usually made of Copper / Alu, or pure copper, and they are very massive, and very expensive.

It seems you really have no idea what LN2 is let alone how dangerous it is.
You will end up losing a finger or your hand even if your not careful.

I like that boils at 77Kevin, a temperature that will cause one to loose a hand if you touch that stuff without thermal gloves. :]

Well damn thanks for being harsh I appreciate it. I didnt know how dangeours it could be. It was just an idea I had and obviously it was a wrong one lol. My bad
