I've been fiddling with a raw 8.avi file from FRAPS during UT2k4 and trying to compress it to look half decent, but failed miserable.
The original file is 2.4GB 640x480, no audio at 25 fps, 3mins 33 secs
DivX seems to give crappy results at whatever I set it to (trying to keep size down) when the file size is ~20MB.
Is there any way to get the file to look OK at 20MB when it's 3:30, or am I fighting a lost cause.
I tried 25fps @ 800kbps and 20fps @ 1000 kbps, neither looked any good, both ~20MB.
They didn't even look much better than at 640kbps (16MB file).
Should I just think of getting a lrger file if I want better quality, or is there something else I coudl do, even if it involves getting another codec?
