Hey guys,
I am in need of some help. Three weeks ago, I built a new computer to replace my P4 3.0C and 9800 pro system. The new system is an AMD X2 4400+ and Geforce 7800GTX with an Asus A8N-SLI Premium motherboard.
Anyway, I cannot for the life of me get any of my Xvid or Divx encoded videos to playback without stuttering (by stuttering, I mean every 15-30 seconds, the video will pause and then speed up to catch the correct audio position).
I have tried every playback program imaginable, including WMP, Media Play Classic, VLC, and BSPlayer; along with every Xvid codec that I could find, including the K-Lite pack, AutoGK, standalone installer, etc.
At the same time, I have tried every combination of enabling/disabling Cool 'n' Quiet, the Windows dual core patch, and the AMD processor driver.
However, nothing seems to work. I don't have any other problems with my computer. It encodes movies using Xvid without issue, and it is very fast. HD videos playback perfectly, including both 720p and 1080i. Also, I don't have any stuttering in any of the the games or benchmarks I have played (Halo, Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 2) which seems to be a pretty common sympton of dual core processors.
I am using the latest ForceWare drivers from Nvidia (81.94), but had the same problems with the 81.85 release. This is all with Windows XP Professional (32 bit). I have also formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows, but the problem remains.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is happening? Thanks in advance.
