DivX Player getting error messages when I play movies

For some reason I have recently been experiencing problems with the DivX Player 2.0 Alpha (the official one, available at divx.com) while playing movies. Whenever I've had the movie going for a few minutes I get an error message that reads "The insutrction at '0x0068501b' referenced at '0x00000000'. The memory could not be "written". This is quite annoying as it prevents me from watching my DivX-compressed movies. How can I solve this problem? Thanks for any help!!

OS: XP Pro
RAM: 256MB PC2100 DDR
CPU: Athlon XP 1.33GHz
HDD(1): Quantum 30GB 7200rpm (system and apps)
HDD(2): Seagate 40GB 5400rpm (for movies and mp3s)
Video: Radeon 32MB DDR

you say the divx player is an alpha version, so you shouldnt be suprised that it has problems

why not just use WMP? it works just fine for divx movies
