DivX=>Mpeg/Avi

Hey...Do somebody know if there exsist a program, there can convert DixX movies to Mpeg/Avi format ????

Hello.

I am just getting into non-linear video editing with a PC and I have heard some great things about DivX.

I was just wondering why (for what reason) would you convert a DivX file to AVI or MPEG?

Would it be so people with DivX on their PCs could view the file? OR is there a reason that I am overlooking?

Probably because they wanna make VCD compliant disc. I could be wrong

Simply because us people with mpeg-cards isn't able to watch DivX unless we have Tv-out on our vid-cards.

I know that for sure is the reason 'cause Serenity is a friend of mine

Yes he did...And we started a conversion today but wether it works or wont we know until tomorrow 'cause it'll take at least 5 hours.

Some of the settings wheren't we able to change, which we think should have been enabled but we come back tomorrow with Q's if it didn't work satisfying.

divX is awsome.. You can take a dvd compress it to avi from 6gigs to just under 700mb..
The quality is good the audio great. Takes hours to make...
You can use these progies to make them..
1. DeCSS to rip the dvd to your hd(provided you have enough space)
2. FlaskMPEG to compress the dvd
3.VirtualDub to finis the product to save as a avi file
