Ok, I have the Ghost in the Shell DivX, but I can't play it on WMP (6.4 I think). I have the latest DivX codecs, and tried other patches, but it didn't work. I already saw the ASF version of the movie, but would like to see the DivX version as well. :)

Thanks for your time.

i dunno if it will help, but i've never had any troubles watching DivX, i'm using WMP 7.0 with the latest windows updates for it, plus a DivX MPEG 4 codec among 3 others...

.asf, IMO, better than .RM, unless you have 300kbps RM, which is good, but not as good as DivX and Mpeg

Yeah, ASF generally have better quality, but even that depends on the bit rate. I usualy make 1Mbit Asf movie, just to keep some of the Quality.

ASF is better then RM cause it doesn't make that blocky images during fast movements (Asf do this if it doesn't have a high bit rate).

In my openion, this is how it goes quality wise (from worse to best):

RM > ASF > MPEG > DivX

Supradude, I'm trying not to upgrade to WMP7. IMO, it sucks. :)

i think so too, but i do like the new playlist option...
to get that nostalgic feel of 6.4, i reassociate all my media to the wmplayer.exe file in WMP 7, it's basically 6.4 and i saved all the old school file icons too, so in short, i have 7, which works like 6.4 and looks like 6.4, but also have an icon that opens the actual WMP 7.0 for when i want to use the playlist = )

I have Virtual dub. It works, but its not thw same. Its more like an editor then a player. It only load a part of the movie cause its too big (give me a warning saying the seeking featre will be slow).

Anyway, I'll try MP7 tomorro... f*uck it, I'll try it now. ;)

Are you sure that you downloaded the full file? If not, use DivxFix or Virtual Dub to watch an uncompleted Divx file.

Weyoun, I got it on Lime Wire, a GNUTella rip.

PM me and I'll hook you up with a copy.

EDIT - Nevermind, I don't have the full. :( Guess I'd have to download it again.

BTW Sendtrash - DivFix worked. Thanks! :D
