DivX and freeware programs are so awesome

After trying countless ways to convert DVD rips into a watchable WMV file on my pocket PC I've found a FREE program that allows me to watch DivX files AND a converting program that makes conversion between the VOB files and DivX absolutely painless.

I'm now in the process of ripping the first season of Scrubs for conversion

Use BetaPlayer if you aren't already. Very good. And using VirtualDub, you can get files to about 30 MB that still look fantastic on a PPC.

Yep, thats the player. The encoder is PocketDivXEncoder

Nice I've used that for several months and it's the best. Watched a hella lot of anime. PocketTV is good too, but only for MPEG's

i think the best lightweight program for windows media player on DESKTOP PCs is mplayer classic (search the internets for mplayerc.exe). it's awesome and is so much less of a hog than all those other programs. plus, it will play a lot of files that the later WMP files may not be able to play.
