DivX 5 to be released Monday, March 4th

Hopefully people will label their videos as being Divx 4/5 or whatever... that would be helpful. Not that I participate in anything that it would matter to me... 😛

I´v been trying to find some info on divx5 and no one seems to know.

Only thing I could find is that there will be a free and pay version of divx5. The pay version will have more fetures. Also just that its going to be much much much better thatn divx 4.12

Yeah.. just click on decoder properties and the logo says Divx Pro 🙂

That could be due to a lazy programmer having forgotten to change the text in the "about" boxes.

I wouldn't get excited just yet. DivXNetworks sold out big time and they are not about to freely distribute their cash cow anytime soon.

One copy of the Pro version is adware, the other is $30. Take a look here.
 
the divx softwares are mainly used for ripping dvds and sharing them or burning ....hence in notime most of the people who do rip dvds etc will get a cracked or a warez version.
 
I downloaded DIVX5 and all it says is DIVX, Codec 5.0, Build 413

Could NE1 send me the pro version you downloaded? 🙂
