Divorcees

Male: divorce is final on this coming Thursday. Three more days! If judge okays it, then things are basically split evenly. Of course, since the whole divorce was her fault and since I earned the stuff we have, I don't think an even split is fair. But when you live in a "no fault" state, those arguments don't hold water in court.

Then she demanded a little alimony to avoid court. Her number was so small, that it could have cost me more in attorney fees to have a trial (even if I won). And if I lost I'd be out big time. So, I agreed to pay it. Again it wasn't split fairly. But it is the best split I could have gotten under the circumstances.

Notice I used the word 'fairly' not 'evenly'. Sometimes an 'even' split is not fair.

I lost about $9,000 in money I directly gave her, IRA contributions or debt I assumed. This was after 2 years of marriage.

While I lost out monitarily, she lost out on being married to a great guy. 🙂

Had to divorce my ex because she got pregnant and refused to abort.

Tell me you're kidding.

Not kidding but she was crazy I'll tell you that much.

Was it yours?

It's a long story and you guys will all hate me so I won't post the long version. It wasn't mine and we had an 'open' relationship.

Highly interested in the open relationship and how it went, etc. I want a story! Story FTW!

sounds like she nailed a guy and got pregnant is how it sounds like it went....did you think maybe they went out for sammcihes and she sat in something sticky?

Honestly I would rather not. The idea was cool at first but too many problems arise later on especially with jealousy and insecurity caused from repeated meetings with the same person, dealing with jerks who think she's his etc. I think the guy that impregnated her did it on purpose just to screw up our relationship. Anyway I'd rather just forget about the whole thing. Sorry that I brought it up in the first place. It was a bad experience that I've learned a lesson on. Deep inside I'm still a swinger but I don't do it nor does my current gf although neigher of us gets jealous over hanging out with friends of the opposite sex.

I've been divorced. She got more than she deserved, but would have cost me more to fight it.
Just 4 more years of payments (but I love my daughter and have voluntarily raised my child support payment over time as my salary has increased)

Will be separating really soon. She's getting like 95% of my liquid assets, but I'm getting most of the physical items(No house and just lost the car in an accident)

Think she is coming out slightly more ahead, but all I can say is <William Wallace>FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love going on these marital appraisal jobs. Definatly reminds me not to get married.
