No fault divorce does not mean that you have to split your assets 50/50. If you had a higher income and she committed adultery, any decent lawyer should have got you more than fifty percent.
Read the laws and do the lawyer cost analysis then come back and post that you were wrong. It won't be 50/50 to the penny in some cases, but the NE laws state that it should be an equitable distribution as close to 50/50 as possible. There are exceptions (inheritance, property owned prior to the marriage, etc). But find me a good divorce lawyer that can go to court to gain an uneqitable distribution in court in an equitale distribution state
for less than $11,000.
