If any of you are following the Steam sales, Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga is up for $19.99. I'm thinking about picking this up, but since it seems to be a patched and repackaged Ego Draconis plus some additional content, I'm curious if anyone has any opinion about it. I don't have any experience with the Divinity series and ED reviewed pretty average.

Should I pick it up or pass it by? If I hadn't already purchased a bunch of games already I wouldn't be on the fence about it.

Overall I enjoyed it quite a bit. It has a slow start but picks up and it took me over 40 hours to finish it. I never played Ego Draconis but apparently it's a good revamp of it.

Pros:

-Surprisingly good voice acting
-Good humor
-Good sense of progression from weakling to badass demi-god
-Mobs don't level with you
-Great variety of loot, weapons, armor etc
-Combat is quite fun once you get to a higher level
-Lots of quests
- Never came across any obvious bugs
- Big skill tree so you can built your PC many different ways

Cons:

- Uses the gamebro engine (fallout, obvlion). Although modified a lot so it looks better than these games imo.
- Generic story with generic baddies
- Some quests are a bit fed-ex type of ones that you really don't feel like doing
- Map isn't as big as most role playing games of its type
- Personally I don't think there's a lot of variety in the type of mobs
- Some skills seem useless
- Slow start

I got this on sale for $27 earlier this month. Started it, I don't like some of the movement, but seems like a decent game for the little I played.

I've heard that the remastered Dragon Knight Saga version is a big improvement, and overall very good things about it in general. I'm waiting for it to come out on X360 though since my laptop probably wouldn't be able to handle anything but the lowest settings.

having just finished Risen and not being ready to commit to Dragon Age, I picked it up. I'm guessing it'll be a blast :)

I just got it yesterday for 19.99 on Steam. Figure there is not much to lose when paying only this much. After paying 59.99 for the last Modern Warfare and Black Ops games, I am trying to buy only highly discounted games for a while. (I was disappionted in the total experience of Modern Warfare 2 and in the terrible performance of Blops.)

The only games coming out that I would want to buy right away would be Mass Effect 3 or Diablo 3.

I finished playing thru the Dragon Knight Saga a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It's even still installed as I'm tempted to play through again with a different character type. I was an archer my first run through so I didn't play with the magic much at all.

How many hours did it take you to beat the game might I ask? I'm tempted to pick this game up the next time it becomes on sale on Steam (a little disappointed for not picking it up during the Christmas sale). I'm currently working my way through New Vegas (about 50 hours in and I barely cleared 1/3 of the locations).

From what I've heard, everyone seems to enjoy the game when it's on sale, my concern really is that nowadays I don't have as much time devoted to games, so when I do, I want to make sure it's quality gaming. I feel like when I finish New Vegas, Two Worlds 2 comes out, and hopefully when I finish that, Witcher 2 will come out, and by the time I finish Witcher 2, there'll be a steam sale on Dragon Age 2, which will tie me over until Elder Scrolls V :p
