Divinity 2? Thoughts?

Anyone play this?

How is it?

Buggy? Fun? Anything I should know?

Watched a trailer for what looks like an addition or a sequel called the dragon knight and then ended up looking at the original game. Seemed interesting.

Dragon Knight Saga is just the remastered version of Divinity 2: Ego Draconis plus a new expansion pack. I'm playing Dragon Knight Saga at the moment and it is good fun. I prefer it over Arcania. The writing is better and the game has good humour, plus I prefer the combat.

I've put in 31 hours at the moment and that has taken me to the start of the expansion

One thing I should mention is that there is no leveling of enemy mobs. So if you rush through the game too quickly, you will get shit slammed by higher level mobs quickly.

I recently bought this game - I'm lukewarm with it. I think my perception has been thrown off due to finishing Fallout New Vegas / Dragon Age / Mass Effect 2 just recently - so I'm not in a position to give an opinion without a bias slant to it.

Overall presentation isn't as polished as most modern games and RPG's - especially if you're coming off the 3 I mentioned earlier as a comparison. But it's not bad in any way.

They recently just released a patch to the game so it's more stable now.

The performance of the game has been increased overall since you can now adjust more settings while in-game - so don't worry about that "30 FPS" thing anymore just in case someone mentioned it, since it no longer applies (you can disable any fps cap).

As for fun? Loaded question - I would say you would enjoy it even if you're a casual RPG person. Believe it or not, someone on GameFaqs actually posted a coherent accurate review of the game - so I would read that first if you want another opinion. I on the whole agree with him and his points in general.

If you're looking to buy it - Direct2Drive is having a 20% off sale right now (Until Monday - 12/13 I believe) using code HOHOHO (It's on their front page). This makes the game (digital version) down to $32.00 instead of full price.

It is pretty good. Takes a good long while to get into, and it can be really frustrating if you find yourself stuck with a savegame near an impossible mob (happens more often that you would think in this game). But all in all I liked it. The story is actually pretty good, and the voice acting isn't horrible.

I actually prefer this. I downloaded a mod for oblivion to turn this on. I like the idea that some creatures are too powerful for you and you should run and some are too puny and you crush them.

Awesome, very useful information all of it! Appreciate your time. I am coming off of DA here soonish. I am really only a little more than half way through the first game, and I have the unopened expansion sitting on my desk too.

Perhaps I will wait a while and see if a better sale will come. Tough decision..

I wonder if the game supports surround resolutions or if a hack has been made to do so.

Finished the game + expansion at 41 hours. Enjoyable game. I liked the voice acting, humor, music, and combat. It will probably go on sale over xmas so definitely keep an eye out for it. Too easy at the end though. THe last 10 hours I was godlike and never even needed to take a potion as life leech and regeneration took care of that. 8/10
