Diving on the US Navy ND tables is a recipe for trouble right?

I recall being told that they are pretty much on the limit stuff for ultra fit SEALs, and certainly my PADI tables, and computer are a lot less generous...

I really can't imagine doing deeper dives without a computer any more actually, and a five at five in blue water would be just about impossible without the detailed digital depth guage they have ;)

More than likely, but for us laymens, reading a topic that we don't know much about (like this one) helps us learn. and learning is cool ;)

US Navy No-Decompression tables list the safe amount of time you can spend at certain depths without having to do decompression stops (to get nitrogen out of your tissue) on the way back up ;)

So the trans quacriom equation explains that the true velocity of motion minus three pints of whale urine leads to a much deeper and harder penetration of all equations. /out

If you're a recreational diver (and NOT a Navy SEAL), you shouldn't dive using Navy dive tables... unless you really don't mind the consequences. I'm a PADI Divemaster, and I'd never consider using anything but my dive computer, and even then, I also stay within manual dive table calculations. Never know when your computer will give out midway through a dive and you need to know how long you can stay down... or how long you need to stay up once you've surfaced.

You're actually posting a request for hyperbaric information/advice to ATOT? Even if there is a genuine expert out there his/her post will be buried with Soviet Russia nefs and spider posts.

Semi true. The Navy dive tables are compiled using average standards for Naval personnel, more specifically the dive community. These tables are used by all military divers e.g. the Army Corp of Engineers, deep sea divers (mixed gas), Naval EOD, Spec War...These personnel are of different physical fitness.

What it comes down to is your health. The more the body fat you have the more the risk you get from A.G.E. The same holds true about your cardiovascular system.

If you look through the history of the dive tables and track the changes, you would notice that dive times have been decreasing for all depths. This basically means don't push your luck or your limits.
