ditching comcast for directv ... what's the best deal to be had right now?

title says it all - looking to move to directv. what's the typical deal right now and what should I shoot for?

Not looking for all the movie channels, just your basic, espn, fox sport west, food network, etc.

I'm tempting to make the switch also but their specials require a 24month contract..ouch.

edit: and the promo price is for the first 12 months only

Also, in their so called "contracts", they have the right to change the prices anytime and you can do nothing about it.
