Today was an eventfull evening at my local place of work... for the first time in 4 years that I've worked at this pizza place, a person that is always there wasn't there. He was there 365 days a year. Why? he was fired earlier this week... why? well... there is a story behind it... when you are a new worker, you kind of go through this whole initiation process with this guy, he comes off as a real prick to you and picks on you and pretends to be a homosexual, but you don't realize that it's an act until you get to know the guy (why he does it I don't know, He doesn't get out much, so his he gets very little attention, that's my theory anyways).

Anyways, he was fired a few days ago because he threw Flour into a girls eyes last tuesday... the girl stormed out of the restruant and went home and her parents proceeded to call up the buisness and said that if they didn't fire the guy that they'd have a lawsuit on their hands. Not only that but the girl quit... or "quit" we don't really know yet. To make a long story short, I lost two of my best friends at work today.... one who grew on me and I didn't realized how much I enjoyed being around them till they weren't around and the other simply "quit" and she happened to be a very good friend of mine.

Do any of you have any stories that sadden you or have any disturbing stories that involve accidents/incidents (i.e. - flour in eyes)? please post your story!

A long time ago when I was working at a burger joint late one night I heard a pop and looked up to see one of the windows facing the street cracked. Apparently someone decided to do a little mini drive-by with a BB gun. Needless to say, after that most of the customers asked for their food to-go.

At my old job as a web developer, we would go down the stairs and have a jumping contest to see who could jump up the most stairs almost every day. That was lots of fun, we got sprained ankles and would fall down the stairs, and all sorts of fun stuff.

I think the guy who was sitting in the corner of the computer lab with his pants open, penis in hand, and wet pants was the worst for me.

There's been the occassional fights between other employees (as for myself, I've never had any contention with a co-worker). I work in the kitchen at where I work (it's a movie theater-restaraunt). There's been a lot of reconstruction in the shopping center where I work at. One day the power went completely out (this happened once before). This includes the projection screen, grills, lights, everything.

Other disturbing experiences would probably be from what I've heard from other people. Apparently, this place I work at is haunted. There was a ticket taker who saw a man just walk into the building with a suitcase (he didn't buy a ticket). He told the other employees immediately, but no one could find this guy. Also, a few years ago, there was this homeless guy who would just hang out in the building all the time (and the bathroom). Word has it that he died there or something like that. Another incident occurred when the last movie (late night) left, and one of the waitresses was cleaning up. The theater was dark and she thought she was about to bump into someone, she said, "Excuse me.." When she turned around no one was there. This was under the main exit. The manager thought she saw someone standing under the exit sign also. Freaky.

I went to McDonald's to pick up food for everybody. I carried it back. There were 5 drinks, and 5 value meals. Needless to say I couldn't carry it all, it was just too much. So I spilled it all over my pants and it looked like I pissed my pants. Didn't look too good in front of the boss..

But they understood :) Sorry, that's as bad of one that I have.

if you want to talk about fights and whatnot... I've got a ton of those stories... I figure we average about a fight every two weeks where I work... due to the hot ovens/friers/Pasta cooker/conveyer oven there is a ton of heat and people react really wierd in hot weather...

Speaking of pizza places....

I used to work at a pizza place when I was studying at WSU. One time it was soooo hot. I went in the walk-in freezer to get something (don't remember what now). But it was so nice in there that I almost fell asleep (sat down on some boxes). Any other time it's freezing in there. But I just barely woke up enough to get up and get back out. Dang. Ahh, felt sooooo good, though.

I work with 10 sexually repressed, emotionally driven females starting menopause.

It doesn't get much more disturbing than that.

Well, I work with four women over 300 pounds each, including one who tips the scales at ~ 475. That is VERY disturbing, believe me!

Well Don, bless the stars that it's not 10, 300 pound, sexually repressed women, with emotional instability issues, who are just starting to go through menopause. :Q :p

Agreed, though in all fairness they are all teetering on the verge of the, er, change of life, and are not without their emotional frailties. Fortunately I only have a couple of weeks left before I move!

I worked at a Little Ceasars in a less than rich neighborhood when I was 16 (am now 32), was sitting behind building having a smoke before I went in and a crazy lookin' guy (maybe 25yrs old) barefoot, wearing white underwear and a white dirty t-shirt jogged down the alley up to me and started mumbling about "just did something bad, real bad, I have been bad, do you know, do you know what I mean, baddddd..." I told him that was o.k. , but I had to go into work and that they were waiting for me, I walked backward all the way around the building and dashed in and locked the door. My manager didn't believe me, he opened the back door and the guy was nowhere to be seen
Thats it, creeped me out for a while.
