Disturbing internet meme

Not sure if this is the right forum for this or not, but I just saw the following meme posted by a friend on Facebook and it ticked me off enough that I had to vent about it somewhere. (Also, when did Facebook become meme central?). The meme appears to be one of the games where you make up funny names for yourself in a madlibs style. Does anyone else see why I think the person who started this has a malicious motive?

(I took out my friend's answers for obvious reasons)

YOUR REAL NAME:
[example John Smith]

2.WITNESS PROTECTION NAME:(mother and fathers middle names)

3.NASCAR NAME:(first name of your mother's dad, father's dad)

4.STAR WARS NAME:(the first 3 letters of your last name, first 2 letters of your first name)

5.DETECTIVE NAME:(favorite color, favorite animal)

6.SOAP OPERA NAME:(middle name, town where you were born)

7.SUPERHERO NAME: (2nd fav color, fav drink, add "THE" to the beginning)

8.FLY NAME:(first 2 letters of 1st name, last 2 letters of your last name)

9.STREET NAME:(fav ice cream flavor, fav cookie)

10 ROCK STAR NAME (pet's name and street where you live)

11. PORN NAME: (1st pet, street you grew up on)

12.YOUR GANGSTA NAME:(first 3 letters of real name plus izzle)

13.YOUR GOTH NAME:(black, and the name of one of your pets)

14. STRIPPER NAME: (name of your fav perfume/cologne, fav candy)

The end result is that you end up with funny names for yourself that you want to share with friends. But as I know most people on this forum noticed (unlike probably very few people who spread these things), you get a lot of information out of it. I have frequently encountered "Security Questions" like:

* Father's middle name
* Town you were born in
* Name of your first pet
* Street you grew up on

The first three are especially common. I'm just shaking my head here, I can definitely see how someone would fill this out having no idea. I have the mixed urge to congratulate the guy who came up with this for his cleverness, and kick him in the head for misusing it.

Nice spot. Social Engineering at its finest. I had the 25 things go by me and "Mother's Name" on mine has "Like I am going to answer a security answer on the web..."

Oh, I was posting a synopsis over on my FB wall and caught another one in the list.

When a woman takes a married name, she often uses her maiden name as her middle name. So add:

Mother's Maiden Name

To the list of what might be revealed.

OT - "Favorite's" are absolutely the worst verification question as favorites change. A pet peeve.

It's a privacy leak, since we all lie on those "user verification questions." ;)

Facebook and myspace are just places for people to give too much information away. I think I point those domains to my honeypot on my dns server at home. :p
