Distortion on One Channel

I have an amp that adequately (or supposedly) feeds 4 speakers. For some reason, one of the channels gives distortion only for the low notes. I switched the channel over to another speaker that worked fine and it sounded bad. The highs sound very good, it's just this weird crackling bass......

Any ideas?!
