Distorted Compaq Presatrio Laptop display help needed!

I'm not sure why but my laptop has distrorted colors at the top half of the screen. I bought it 3 weeks ago. I'm thinking its because when i have it running and close it the heat cause a burn to the monitor.
Please help me I need this problem fixed. Thank you

We can't help you with that. You are going to have to take it in to a service center (Radio shack or other) if the screen is physically damaged.

If the screen looks OK but the colors look blurred then play with the video drivers/settings. See if there is an update on Compaq's site.

I was expecting this thread to be about an older laptop with a 32 bit color problem that is solved by updating the drivers. I assume you have a newer laptop?

Check it on a external monitor, this will rule out the video chip

If it's only on the LCD the usual problems are:
1: Loose cable
2: The LCD is Fscked
