anyone ever taken a math course over the web before?
I just found out that they offer distance learning for linear algebra now.

i'm not sure if it's a good idea to take the web version.

i appreciate any experiences you may have.

thanks

I'm currently working on a M.S. in Computer Science over the web.
I don't know the format of the class you want to take, but there's a couple things I've found when taking online classes.
In my case, the lectures are recorded and I can watch them online anytime I want. Because you aren't forced to be in class at a certain time, you have to be disciplined to make sure you watch the lectures and don't fall behind.
I've also found that getting answers to questions is a little more difficult. I would think that trying to explain the answer to a linear algebra question via email might be a challenge. On the other hand, if they have a good discussion board for the class, you might be able to get some interaction with other students.

I've taken a few classes now and overall, I'd say it's ok if you are motivated, but I think going to a class in-person would be preferable if you have that option.
