my system specs are in my sig.

fraps reports some really low FPS in my opinion. i have half of the eye candy turned on.

I can detail some of the settings, but it's still noticeable choppy if I move the camera quickly, kind of like tearing, but it's vertical and horizontal.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg

His CPU is fine....

If there is a problem, it is due to a software problem (Whether that be OS or Drivers, or EA's "wonderful" programming)

Isn't that decent for 1920x1200 (native res of your monitor)??

Are you running at that res?

If it's just general stuttering, I experienced that a while back once with an outdated video card driver. An update cured that. Which driver are you running?

i'm running the beta driver for 8800 that came out on jan 31st. i'm running the res right above the basic 800x600. no way i would run it at 1920x1200. dark messiah runs like silk at 1920x1200 though. I'll run fraps in that game too and post.

what a piece of sh#$%. now i can't even run the game. No matter what i do, it asks for the bf2142 CD like it's not in the DVD rom. rebooted, tried both of my cd drives and it doesn't work!!!! gonna reinstall

Go to nVIDIA's site and find the lastest drivers for XP. (unless you use Vista then go find Vista drivers).

Updating drivers are good especially if your using the ones that came with the 8800 series when it launched. Those drivers are much more premature than the ones released 1~3 weeks released after the initial launch.

If your previous card was an ATI card, you might want to reinstall the game also. I remember a while back when I moved from a nvidia card to an ati card I didn't reinstall quake 3 and I was getting pretty low frames for some reason. I reinstalled the game and voila everything worked much faster. I think quake 3 was using the nvidia hooks or trying to emulate nvidia hardware through my ati card or something like that.
