I bake bacon. That creats a pan of bacon grease, which I pour into a soup can.

When the can fills, how should I dispose of it?

Just sticking it in the garbage seems pretty messy.

Trying to think of a package that could the can short of like a Hefty bag.

Make gravy for your homemade mash potatoes

I would just put the can in 2 or 3 walmart bags and then put it in the trash. Or perhaps you could put it in an empty milk jug and then toss it out.

Any oils/fats from cooking should be disposed of in the trash. There they do the least harm

Dispose? Throw it in the fridge and use it as you would butter or any other cooking grease to make your food taste 50x better.

This. One of God's creatures had to die; don't be direspectful towards its sacrifice

The important question is do you cover it when baking? Splattered bacon grease in the oven, ftl.

Try to cook eggs with some of the left over drippings. Adds flavor. (Especially scrambled eggs)

Also as stated above, you can use it instead of butter/lard/crisco. Make sure that it is strained though.

Go green, recycle it as follows:

1) use for stove top popcorn
2) wilted lettuce salad
3) "butter" bread with it and throw under broiler with some grated parmesean cheese
4) mix in with lean ground beef for delicious hamburgers
5) use in place of butter in a delicious mushroom risotto

Those are just a few ways I make use of these gifts from the porcine gods. They should be respected for what they offer us in their sacrifice.

"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple. It makes bacon. The pig is turning an apple — essentially garbage — into bacon! That’s magic. Or the most successful recycling program ever." - Jim Gaffigan

If you have an annoying dog that poops in your yard, melt the fat a bit, put it on the poop and the dog will eat it.

I just dump it directly in the trash from the pan. It eventually hardens and is no longer a mess hazard. If you are on paleo diet it is perfectly acceptable to drink and you'll never get artery blockages.

I use it to cook with. Otherwise, when I have excess quantities of grease/oil from frying, cooking etc... I empty the oil into my compost heap in the backyard.

I just keep it in a empty glass container and throw it out once it's full and congealed.
