Hello all. RIght now I can get a brand new 2100FP for $950 shipped. When this monitor was around $750 shipped a month back it was a steal, but at $950 are there any other 19" or 20" LCD's that I should seriously consider? LCD is a requirement here -- space is going to be at an EXTREME premium where I'm moving this computer, or I wouldn't even consider it with the huge price premium.

Also, about features, I have a question. I really want this monitor to double as a TV. Because of this, S-Video in is a real nice feature, but I have a question - are there DVI switchboxes like there are VGA switchboxes? I really want to know for the future since next gen consoles might offer DVI out since most HDTV's offer DVI in these days.

most other good 20inchers are the same as the dell 2100fp. the only difference are looks. viewsonic and samsung have monitors that are similar. if i were to get any 20inch lcd, then i'd go with the 2001fp.

as far as i know, samsung does not have a "similar" monitor to the 2001fp. They have the 213t which is 21.3 inches an. Everyone who I can remember who has used both says the samsung has much better image quality than the dell, but also has a slower response time. Most people prefer the samsung (of course, the samsung will run you $1200). As far as 19" goes, samsung has the 193P which seems to be pretty good, and the Sharp LL-191A-B is a 19" with a faster response time. Anandtech has reviewed all of these monitors.
