Displayport on Laptops now MIA

Just an observation, but I was looking at some laptops. Sure looks like Displayport is now gone for the most part even on Pro models. Nearly every laptop I looked at either had VGA only or VGA and HDMI.

I have never used one, but did a search and see many use a Mini displayport.

USB Type-C offers video output features as well.

Apple is still sticking to it in most systems, in part because it has to -- Thunderbolt includes Mini DisplayPort as a matter of course. However, it's safe to say that a lot of lower-end systems are probably going to embrace USB-C for everything outside of HDMI (and sometimes even that). That still means that DisplayPort monitors will stick around, just not native ports on the computers themselves.
