Displayport monitor news?

Right now theres a terrible and terribly overpriced selection of displayport monitors for those of us wanting to run 3+ monitors on a single computer. So is there any good news on the horizon about displayport, is it gonna launch "in full" anytime soon?

You could just buy some displayport to HDMI/DVI dongles. Monoprice has them for about $10 each, for both regular size and mini.

I presume the OP referring 3 monitors with a single Radeon 5000 series card. In which case, the $10 passive won't work, as one display needs to be either native displayport or use a more expensive active adapter.

OP, to answer your question, displayport seems to be relegated to the high-end for now like the Dell U2410. I wouldn't call them overpriced, they are just higher-end displays than what you (apparently) are looking for.

I am not sure if a $300 dollar monitor is in your budget. Dell released new IPS monitors with displayport connectivity under their ultrasharp brand. These are very new and no reviews are up at the moment.

Definitely better choice than buying an overpriced active adapter.

The U2311H seems very promising from a price to quality perspective. Not available in Norway yet though but hopefully they'll even price them somewhat reasonably here, that'd be pretty amazing 😛

Perfection down to the last pixel:
Dell UltraSharp displays are designed for perfection in every pixel. In the event you discover even one bright, defective pixel during your limited hardware warranty period, we'll exchange your monitor at no cost to you.

Wow, that's nice.
