Displayport -> Mini displayport signal loss?

I have a bunch of Apple Mini Displayport -> Dual-Link DVI cables spare, and I need to connect some DP-equipped (full size sockets) PC's to 30-inch DVI-D monitors.

I'm wondering if any undesirable effects can come as a result of using the Monoprice Displayport -> Mini Displayport converter, then the Apple cables. If I can get away with these $5 converters, I'd rather not spend hundreds on Sapphire/etc cables.

DP->Mini DP is just changing the plug layout, no signal conversion or anything, so I can't imagine it causing any compatibility issues. I don't have firsthand experience though..
